Office of the Provost

Office of the Provost is a full-fledged department of the College. The Office of the Provost is headed by the Provost who is the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Academic Officer of the College.

The Office of the Provost consists of two departments:

The Provost’s Office

This section is the office of the Provost and the Chief Academic and executive officer of the College. It has an all-embracing function of coordinating the activities of all Schools, Departments, Sections and Sub-Sections of the College and ensures their smooth and efficient operations.

Consultancy Services

The principal aim of the Consultancy section at the College is the provision of a business forum whereby the abundant pool of academic excellence, professional expertise and material resources can be utilized for generating funds for the College. The Consultancy Service section is the coordinating section of all the business undertakings of the College.

The Office of the Deputy Provost is headed by the Deputy Provost. The Deputy Provost assists the Provost in running the daily activities of the College and may perform such other duties as may from time to time be assigned to him by the Provost.

Education Admin Consult

The Education Admin Consult is headed by the Education Admin Officer who reports to the Provost. The role of the Education Admin Officer includes advising the Provost regarding the appointment and promotion of staffs after the screening new applicants and supervising performance of existing staffs. The Education Admin Officer also ensures that salaries of the staffs are paid in time while also working on the constant improvement of the general welfare of the staffs of the College. The Education Admin Officer also chairs the Disciplinary Committee of the College and submits his disciplinary recommendations to the Provost.

The Registry Department is headed by the Registrar. It forms the core of the College’s administration. Functions of the Registry Department include:

Reports to the Provost for the day to day administration of the College. Performs such other duties as the Provost may direct from time to time. Provide secretarial services to the Governing Council, the Academic Board. Keeping custody of the vital records of the College.

Functions of the Central Admin: The Central Admin reports to the Provost for the day to day administration of the College. Offers secretarial services to the Board of the Governing Council and the Academic Board. Responsible for the general coordination of the activities of the Registry.

Establishment Office

The Establishment Office is headed by the Deputy Registrar Establishment who reports to the Provost. The office has the secret/open registry which is headed by an executive officer who reports to the Deputy Registrar Establishment. The secret/open registry is responsible for the custody and movement of staff records (files) and the supply of information on staff.

The Information and Public Relation Office is headed by the Protocol Officer who reports to the Provost. The Protocol Officer is also the Deputy Registrar Information.

Press Relations. College Publications. Community Relations. Organization of Special Events. Advertising and general publicity of College events. Protocol. Photographic and video coverage of events

Admissions Office

The Admissions Office is headed by the Admission Officer who reports to the Provost. The Admission Officer reaches out to intending candidates and prospective students from the communities in all parts of Nigeria. Analyze the applications of prospective students based on standard admission policies. Interview students to understand their objectives and background. Provide clarifications to student’s queries in a professional manner. Follow-up with students for any enquiries through direct meetings, live chat, phone calls and emails. Advice students about the programs offered, admission procedure, eligibility and costs involved. Provide assistance with recruitment activities, student interviews, admission publications, and information sessions. Provide assistance to the students to complete the enrolment forms. The Admissions Officer process the admissions of the incoming students through the verification, screening and allocation of admissions to the students.

Bursary Department

The Bursary Department is headed by the College Bursar who reports to the Provost. The Bursary Department is comprised of the Account Office, the Audit and the Store Office. The Bursary Department is responsible for the collection of all College fees and payments of staff salary and benefits. The roles of the Bursar includes:

Overseeing day-to-day cash management
Managing accounts payable and receivable
Keeping organized books of tuition fees and files of receipts. management of budget. Procurement and payment of supplies and setup of financial procedures. Undertaking general and financial administrative tasks (e.g. managing employment contracts, ensuring compliance with the law and contacting local authorities.)

Functions of the Examination Office: Handles issues to do with the welfare of the students including: Accommodation, Health services, Student union activities, Students’ associations.

The Office of the College Secretary is headed by the College Secretary who reports to the Registrar. The College Secretary oversees the activities of the College Secretariat. The College Secretary also takes minutes at meetings specifically designated by the Provost. The College Secretary is also responsible for compiling lists of names and addresses that are useful to the organization, including those of appropriate officials or officers of voluntary organizations. The College Secretary also keeps a record of any of the organization’s publications (e.g. leaflets or newsletters).

The Legal Department is staffed by a team of legal experts and luminaries. Their roles include advising and guiding the Provost and the Management in the administration and running of the Collge.

The College legal team also handle all legal maters that have to do with the College including litigation, prosecution, counselling, etc. etc.

The maintenance Office is headed by the Principal Technical Officer who reports to the Provost.

Functions of the Maintenance Office:

Responsible for the custody and maintenance of College facilities.

Transport Office

The Auto-Mechanical Office is headed by the Chief Driver of the College who reports to the Provost.

Functions of the Auto-Mechanical Office: Takes care of transportation. Responsible for the administration of all vehicle of the College. Supervises vehicle disposition in the College. Advises on the maintenance and repairs of major vehicles of the College

Security Service Office

The Security Service Office is headed by the Chief Security Officer who reports to the Provost.

Functions of the Security Service Office:

Protection of life and property

Apprehension of offenders

Detection of crimes

Enforcement of laws made by the authority of the College

Library Department

The Library Department is headed by the College Librarian who reports to the Provost.
